(The expansion of the women's liberation movement, the lar...)
The expansion of the women's liberation movement, the large increase in female labor force participation as the standard of living increased and as low rank jobs appeared, and the tendency of increasing numbers of females to withdraw from the labor market only during childbearing years indicate a female preference for market work over housework even at their relatively low wage rates. In the absence of evidence that males have any desire to enter this occupation, we conclude that net discrimination against males is neither effective nor significant. This book concentrates, then, on discrimination against females.
