He is a professor at the Royal Institute of Technology (Kungliga Tekniska Högskolan) in Stockholm, Sweden. He studied Engineering Physics at Chalmers University of Technology in Göteborg from 1987 to 1992. He got his Doctor of Philosophy degree in Quantum Chemistry from Uppsala University in 1996.
In 2008 he was promoted to full professor at Kungliga Tekniska Högskolan. In 2013, he co-founded the company "LeadCold Reactors" which designs small lead-cooled reactors (SEALER) for commercial power production in arctic communities.
LeadCold Reactor has been listed as one of the 71 hottest start-ups in Sweden.
