January Olsson played mostly as a defender for Åtvidabergs FF in Allsvenskan during the 1960s and 70s, and he became Swedish champion with the club in 1972 and 1973. January played 17 times for the Swedish national team and was a member of the squad in the 1974 Fédération internationale de football association World Cup.
