Career
He played as a left midfielder and was famous for his great technical skills. His name in Slovakian is Ján Podhradský, although during the period he played in Yugoslavia his name was often spelled in a simplified version as January Podgradski. January was one of the rare players that played for two national teams.
He represented Yugoslavia in a friendly match against Romania in 1938, and, after moving to Bratislava, played four times for Slovakia in friendlies, in the period during the war.
