January Vermeiren started his career as a consultant before founding his own networking company. Using this as a platform, he wrote books on networking. His books were published in English first and became Amazon bestsellers. Vermeiren is the first Belgian national to acquire a bestseller status for a book with Amazon in the United States of America (17 March 2009). According to Human Resources Tribune magazine Vermeiren is one of the top 10 speakers from Belgium. Vermeiren is visiting lecturer at the International Master of Business Administration program of Vlerick Leuven Gent Management School (Belgium) and Erasmus Universiteit Rotterdam (The Netherlands). His company is still (2011) the only formally certified LinkedIn training organisation.
