In October 2007, Drachmann was selected for his first matches with the Denmark national under-21 football team
Due to injury to teammate and Air Corps Horsens star player Allan Søgaard, Drachmann has grabbed the opportunity to be the starting defensive midfielder for the club during the 2007-2008 Superliga season. Despite his young age he has shown himself capable of playing at the highest level
