She started her career with Rio de Janeiro Vôlei Clube, before moving to Italy with Vini Monteschiavo Jesi. After a season she moved to Spain to play for CAV Murcia, before returning to Italy with Scavolini Pesaro.

She won the Best Spiker award at the 2010 FIVB World Grand Prix. Jaqueline was part of the national team that won the gold medal at the 2011 Pan American Games held in Guadalajara, Mexico. Jaqueline and Brazil"s national team won the gold medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. On August 24, 2013 won a fourth gold medal of the World Grand Prix after winning final match against Japan (3-0). Playing with Sollys Nestle, Carvalho won the gold medal and the Best Receiver award in the 2012 FIVB Club World Championship held in Doha, Qatar. Carvalho won the silver medal at the 2015 Pan American Games when her national team was defeated in the championship match 0-3 to the United States.
