Career
Although born in Brazil, Cané played the majority of his football career in Italy. At club level he played as a winger for South.S.C. and Bari amongst many others, as a coach he managed several clubs in the Province of Naples area. He also played for Montreal Castors in the Canadian National Soccer League during 1976.
After taking over as head coach of in 1994, Cané became the first black coach in Serie A history.
