Career
He played soccer for the National Collegiate Athletic Association (National Collegiate Athletic Association) Division I Cornell University men"s team and served as a co-captain of the team in 2007 and 2008. Siegel began his soccer career in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, where he played for the Seacoast United. Siegel was a three-sport athlete at Governor Dummer Academy, earning four letters in soccer in addition to two each in lacrosse and basketball.
He was a two-time all-league honorable mention selection in soccer and was named to the all-league first team while also serving as his squad’s captain.
He was named to the Super-Y League U17 Region I ODP (Olympic Development Program) team in 2004. He joined the Cornell men"s squad in 2004, when he started in nine of 16 games.
After the 2005 season, he suffered a knee injury that forced him to miss the 2006 and 2007 seasons. After the 2006 season, he was named as a co-captain with Kyle Lynch and Aaron Vieira in 2007.
He returned to the field for the 2008 season, sharing the captainship with David Browning, Dan McKallagat, and Joe Yonga.
