Born in Philadelphia, Spector made his Broadway debut in Les Misérables, playing Gavroche. He would later receive a nomination for a Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Musical for his portrayal of Barry Mann in Beautiful: The Carole King Musical.

An original cast member of the Chicago company of Jersey Boys, Spector played Frankie Valli, a role he would play in Broadway in 2008.
