Career
He played his collegiate football with the Miami Hurricanes. Prior to joining the Riders, he played with the San Jose SaberCats of the Arena Football League. He was released by the Riders on June 24, 2009.
Geathers was a utility player who played both wide receiver and running back.
In 2011, Geathers was allegedly charged with accepting booster donations. Nevin Shapiro, a Miami Hurricanes booster member, stated that from 2002-2003, he provided Geathers with multiple extra benefits.
These extra benefits included:
Drinks and Very Important Person access to nightclubs
Entertainment on Shapiro’s $1.6 million yacht
Food, drinks and entertainment at Shapiro’s $2.7 million Miami Beach house.
