Career
Before joining Asian Development Bank, Rush worked for United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund Myanmar, where he participated in relief efforts following the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami. He also worked as an advocate on children's rights and development issues, trained Burmese journalists about children's rights, and led communication efforts to protect families from avian influenza. Rush previously worked at United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund Viet Nam, where he worked on emergency flood relief programs, and also developed landmine injury prevention programs.
Before working in international development, Rush worked on civil rights cases at Trial Lawyers for Public Justice, and served as an attorney with a plaintiffs’ law firm in Denver, Colorado.
Rush is a licensed attorney at law who holds a Juris Doctor from George Washington University Law School in Washington, District of Columbia, a Master"s in development communication from Malmo University in Sweden, and a Bachelor"s in political studies from Claremont Colleges in California.
