Career
He is a Senior Correspondent for The American Prospect, and a contributor to the Boston Phoenix, Government Executive, The Nation, National Journal, Salon, and The Village Voice, specializing in intelligence and national security affairs In 2003 Vest was named an Ochberg Fellow at the Dart Center for Journalism and Trauma. Vest was recognized in 2002 by the American Journalism Review as an "Unsung Hero of Washington Journalism".
At last report (2007), Vest was teaching journalism in Indianapolis.
