Career
He is a right-handed batsman and a leg-break bowler who plays for Jammu and Kashmir. He was born in Srinagar. Ahmed made three appearances for the Under-15s team in the Polly Umrigar trophy competition of 2005-2006, and one appearance for the Under-17s team in the Vijay Merchant trophy the following season.
He made his first-class debut as an opening batsman against Jharkhand in November 2008.
He scored just a single run in the first innings, but a tenacious 34 in the second.
