He was a three times President of the Mokanshan Summer Resort Association. Then he worked as a Secretary of the East China Christian Educational Association. Later he became a member of Shanghai Moral Welfare League, holding various offices. He was appointed as a Principal of the Temporary Language School for new Missionaries held in Shanghai in February 1912.
