Mansaray was brought up in Sassafras, subsequently living in Rhodes, Greece and Gokava, Turkey, before settling in Daylesford. Early work and career included working as a tour guide at Uluru, a croupier, a waiter, a life model, and an Account Executive in Puerto Rico. Jayson attended Southern Cross University as an undergraduate and graduated from London College of Communication with a post-graduate diploma in Broadcast Journalism in 2010. After moving to London in 2007, Mansaray worked in public relations for two years at tta group (a Chime Communications group company) before applying for post-graduate studies.
After receiving a Bloomberg bursary, Mansaray secured work experience at British Broadcasting Corporation London 94.9, Independent Television London Tonight, and Reality Therapy, eventually getting freelance shifts with Sky News.
Whilst on placement with Reality Therapy International (Russia Today television ), Mansaray reported on racism in Moscow for Dotun Adebayo. Jayson is frequently seen out in East London.
Currently, he is living in Camden.
