In 1980s - a freelance photographer in Pans, Sieff began his career there in 1956-58 as a contributor of reportage and fashion to Elle magazine, and worked with the Magnum Agency in 1958-59. He also freelanced in New York in 1965. In 1978 French Television showed a one-hour program on his work entitled Death Valley. He is famous for his portraits of politicians, famous artists, landscapes, as well as for his nudes and use of wide-angle lens and visible dodging marks.
