He attended the University of California, Santa Barbara as an English major from 1983 to 1985.
While at University of California Santa Barbara, he worked on the school"s newspaper, the Daily Nexus, and has stated that the courses he took at University of California Santa Barbara led him to wanting to become a screenwriter. He later enrolled in the screenwriting program at the American Institute for one year. He is best known for his work on the Rush Hour sequels, Catch Maine If You Can, The Terminal, and The Last Shot, and has also co-written a story draft for the film Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull with George Lucas.
The screenplay for that film was written by David Koepp.
