McRoberts, Jeffrey was born on January 16, 1954 in Clinton, Iowa, United States. Son of Keith L. and Helen (Feddersen) McRoberts.


Bachelor, Iowa State University, 1977;postgraduate, Polakov Studio and Forum of Stage Design, 1983-1985;studied dance with, Merce Cunningham and Ruth Currier, 1978-1982.
