Chien, Jen-Tzung was born on August 31, 1967 in Taipei, Taiwan. Son of Wen-Ji Chien and Shuy-Zi Chen.


Degree in electrical engineering, Feng-Chia University, Taichung, Taiwan, 1989. Master Computer Science and Information Engineering, Tamkang University, Taipei, 1991. Doctor of Philosophy in Electrical Engineering, National Tsing Hua University, Hsinchu, Taiwan, 1997.
