(In bestselling author Jennifer Belle’s debut novel, Going...)
In bestselling author Jennifer Belle’s debut novel, Going Down, Belle introduces readers to Bennington Bloom, a coed working her way through college. As a call girl. With a sharp eye for satire and a keen comic sense, Belle chronicles nineteen-year-old Bennington’s high-pressure adventures. Stuck with an ulcer, a father who loves his dog like a daughter, a shrink who is hard of hearing, and New York University tuition to worry about, she's working overtime to keep it all together and doing what she can to survive. Spending the night in an abandoned hotel pool, punching pushy old women on the subway, Bennington is at an all-time low, and things are only going down from there.

(Set in the manic world of New York real estate, High Main...)
Set in the manic world of New York real estate, High Maintenance is the story of Liv Kellerman, a young woman who's just left her husband and, more important, their fabulous penthouse apartment with its Empire State Building view. On her own for the first time in her life, she relocates to a crumbling Greenwich Village hovel and contemplates her next move. Before long she finds her true calling: selling real estate. With her native eye for prime properties and an ability to lie with a straight face, Liv finds success and soon is swimming with the sharks-the hardcore, cutthroat brokers who'll do anything to close a deal. Along the way she picks up a maniacally ardent architect who likes to bite her, a few hilarious bosses, strange and exasperating clients, and a gun, and brings them with her on her search for the one thing she's really after: a home.

(What’s a fabulous New York City girl supposed to do when ...)
What’s a fabulous New York City girl supposed to do when she finds herself fantasizing about the Grim Reaper more than she fantasizes about her husband? When she can’t help but give him the finger on the set of Sesame Street? And when she doesn’t exactly hope for a safe landing when he goes away on business? No, ex-hedge fund manager and new mom Isolde Brilliant hasn’t got the seven-year itch - taking care of her baby and husband and having a growing suspicion that she’s living life in captivity has turned her into a seven-year bitch.

Jennifer Belle was born in 1968 in New York, United States. She is the daughter of a professor and her writer's mother, Jill Hoffman.
As a teen, Belle was drawn to live outside of the classroom. She would board the train in the morning but pass her stop, rather than go to school, and ride to the end of the line and back again. Belle lied about her age to get a job in a Bleeker Street bar, and when the late hours made it difficult to get up for school, she quit. Cohen said, “While her contemporaries were dozing in classrooms, she was dropping out of high school, steering clear of college, chasing down everything that caught her eye.” She later earned a General Educational Development and took classes at both New York University and City College.
Belle has worked off Off-Broadway, in the role of the troll in Sleeping Beauty and the thief in The Balcony. She worked at the La MaMa theater, playing the young Penny Arcade in the performance artist’s show. Belle began writing when her mother formed a writers’ workshop in her apartment. Her intimate knowledge of New York City and its people are reflected in her successful first novel, Going Down, which was optioned by Madonna for a film. The novel Going Down contains the “dreamlike surrealism of Alice’s adventures,” says Clee and called the book “disarmingly innocent and touching.”In 2007, Belle published her third novel Little Stalker, another sharp and funny look at life in New York City. Now Jennifer Belle is back with her new novel, The Seven Year Bitch.
Belle is also the author of Animal Stackers, a picture book for children illustrated by David McPhail, and her essays and stories have appeared in The New York Times Magazine, The New York Observer, The Independent Magazine (London), Cosmopolitan, Ms. Harper Aizaar, Black Book, Mudfish, and several anthologies. She leads writing workshops in her home in Greenwich Village, where she lives with her husband, two sons, and dog.
Her other work High Maintenance was considered “fresh and invigorating.” A Booklist reviewer wrote, “Liv isn’t the poster girl for strong, independent women, but her story is quite entertaining.”
Belle was named Best New Novelist by Entertainment Weekly, profiled in New York Magazine and People, and compared to Dorothy Parker, Lorrie Moore, and J.D. Salinger. Her second equally-praised novel after Going Down, which was named “Best Summer Novel” by Time Out New York, the national bestseller High Maintenance, took on the cutthroat world of Manhattan real estate and was also optioned for film and television.
