In 1969 Jennifer got a diploma in landscape architecture at Gloucestershire College.
During the period from 1966 till 1978 Jennifer worked as a self-employed landscape architect with own business in London, England. In 1974 she served as a a teacher of landscape architecture in London, a post she held until 1978. In 1976 Cox worked as a contributor to Landscape Design periodical, a postition she held to 1978.
In 1987 Jennifer published her book, Chinese Characters, a travelogue based on eight months in China. Since then she has practiced both as a landscape architect and a landscape photographer.
