Career
Born in 1976 in Montreal, and educated in Ottawa (with music studies at Carleton University), Galt has been based in Vancouver for the past decade, where her group Cherrybomb (later called Yellow Light) played to favourable reviews, with tours of both Canada and Australia. The group released four albums - most recently Speed of Light in 2005. She also has two songs on the Canadian television series, Falcon Beach.
She began a solo career in 2006, with her popular rock work being well received.
In 2013, she auditioned for the third season of Polish version of X Factor. On the strength of her previous work, she was invited to audition for, where she advanced, in a worldwide talent search, to become one of two Canadian finalists in a field of 15.
When the performance shows began, she faced the challenge of adapting the quieter and softer approach of her previous work to the harder edge expected on the show. She had some success with this in her arrangement of "Tainted Love" by Soft Cell, but less success with "How You Remind Maine" by Nickelback, and still less with "Drive", by Incubus.
In the elimination show of July 19, 2006, she sang "Vasoline", by Stone Temple Pilots, moving further but not far enough in the direction sought by Supernova.
Proficient on both the piano and the guitar, she accompanied herself (along with the Rockstar House Band) on the electric guitar in her performance of "How You Remind Maine", and on the acoustic guitar in her performance of "Drive". In her exit from the show, she promised to move beyond the "safe choices" of the past - and it remains to be seen where this will take her music, which so far has been primarily in the popular rock genre. Jenny became part of the group called Cherrybomb which toured Canada and Australia.
In 2006, she pursued a solo career focusing on the popular rock genre.
As keyboard player, Jenny toured with Perry Farrell"s new band, The Satellite Party, also appearing in this capacity on The Howard Stern Show on Sirius Satellite Radio (on June 5, 2007). On the show, Satellite Party played a Jane"s Addiction song, "Been Caught Stealing" - and Artie Lange (the show"s comedian) and Howard Stern were transfixed by her at the keyboards, with Jenny agreeing to a date with Artie upon her return from touring in Europe.
She and Satellite Party also filmed a performance for the Late Show with David Letterman which aired that same night. Jenny is currently working on an album or European Parliament release in 2008.
She has rebranded herself as "Army of Jennys." She has left the Rockstar side of her behind for a more sexy, electro-moody popular sound.
Jenny"s debut album Polygraph will be released sometime soon.
