Jens Matzen

Career

The Knight"s Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. In 1955 he joined the post-war Bundesmarine where he held the positions of the first Commander 1. Fast Patrol Boat Squadron (1956 - 1958) and Commander Fast Patrol Boat Command (1964 - 1968).

Thus he contributed to rebuilding the German Schnellboot force.

Finally, he served as Inspizient der Marinewaffen (Inspector of naval armaments) in the Marineamt. He retired as a Kapitän zur Secretary
