He was partially acquitted of conspiracy to commit genocide, murder, rape, and crimes against humanity charges in 2008. He remains accused of genocide, crimes against humanity, and war crimes. The judgment in the Government II trial is expected in August 2011.
On 30 September 2011, Jerome Bicamumpaka was acquitted of all charges at the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda.
He was immediately released from custody and reunited with his family.
