Career
He resides and works in Staten Island, New New York Callet, spends the bulk of his time teaching embouchure for all brass instruments having recently retired from his long-time practice of designing his own line of brass mouthpieces, trumpets, and trombones. In 2007 he released a Digital Video Disc titled Master Superchops, which contains a detailed explanation of his embouchure method and example lessons with some of his pupils.
This includes a focused tone, perfect pitch center and endurance.
Callet believes that it is a rediscovered method of a technique which the clarino blaser were using in the 17th and 18th centuries. Although retired he has designed and released two trumpets and a range of mouthpieces since 2007.
The trumpets are called the SIMA and New York Soloist. The mouthpieces come in a range of sizes, but all share the same design characteristics of being highly efficient, double-cup mouthpieces with a long tight backbore.
