His best showing was at the 1985 National Association of Stock Car Auto Racing Winston Cup Series season where he finished the season with a position of 43rd in the championship – in addition to having had an average start of 30th place during the entire season and an average finish of 25th place.
Bowman has never started higher than 27th in a Winston Cup race and never finished any lower than 38th place (out of 40 drivers). Therefore, he never finished in last place at any Winston Cup racing event.
