After one year Jørgensen left Varde IF and his hometown to sign with Esbjerg fB in summer 2003. After 201 matches for Esbjerg he announced his move to Gent in the winter transfer window. In June 2012, Club Brugge announced that Jørgensen signed a three-year contract with the club
The midfielder played international for the U-19 four matches and four for the Under-20 team
