She studied at the Notre Dame Catholic Secondary School in Burlington where she was a three-sport athlete and competed internationally. She later attended at the Florida Atlantic University. She graduated from the University of Miami and attained a bachelor"s degree of Science of Exercise Physiology.
Club
= Youth Shugg played for the Miami Hurricanes, the collegiate team of University of Miami from 2012-2013. She also has played with Florida Atlantic University Owls for two season from 2010-2011 before her stint with the hurricanes. She was team captain as a sophomore during the 2011 season.
= Senior Shugg was part of K-West United Football Club in 2014.
International
Shugg has trained with the Canadian U-20 national team International goals

Coaching
Shugg is currently working with the Proceedings of the British Academy Sailfish women"s soccer team as an assistant coach since 2014.
She graduated from the University of Miami and attained a bachelor"s degree of Science of Exercise Physiology. She first played with the Philippines women"s national football team at the 2012 Los Angeles Vikings Cup where she scored five goals in a 8-1 win against side Leon. Her first international cap for the national team was against Iran at the 2014 AFC Women"s Asian Cup qualifiers where she scored a brace helping the team make its 6-0 win against the Iranians.
