Jessica Ehrlich was born at Saint Anthony"s Hospital, Saint St. Petersburg, Florida. Ehrlich grew up in Saint St. Petersburg attending The Canterbury School and graduating from Shorecrest Preparatory School.

Ehrlich graduated from Vanderbilt University in 1995, and later earned her Juris Doctor from Southern Methodist University.
She was the Democratic nominee for Florida"s 13th congressional district in (2012), losing to long-time incumbent Bill Young. Ehrlich was running for a re-match until Young died and Democrat Alex Sink entered the race. Ehrlich dropped out of the race after Sink declared her candidacy.
Her father, Charles Ehrlich, was a prominent attorney in Saint St. Petersburg who served as a Florida Assistant State Attorney.
Charles and his mother Jeanette escaped from Nazi Germany in 1944. Ehrlich interned for Florida federal judge Elizabeth Kovachevich.
Ehrlich also worked for Goldman Sachs, Estée Lauder, and Cartier. Ehrlich has worked for Republican Congressman Clay Shaw and Democratic Congressman Stephen Lynch.
She is affiliated with Ruth’s List Florida, She Should Run, and the Florida Association of Women Lawyers.
Ehrlich has also been affiliated with Yad Vashem, the United States. Holocaust Memorial Museum, the Florida Holocaust Museum, and the American Israel Friendship League. Ehrlich ran for Congress in 2012, losing to 21-term incumbent Republican Congressman Bill Young. Ehrlich declared to run again in April 2013 facing Congressman Bill Young.
Young announced on October 9, 2013 his intent to retire in 2014.
Young died on October 18, 2013. Her candidacy was initially endorsed by EMILY"s List, but was rescinded after former Florida Chief Financial Officer Alex Sink announced her candidacy in the race.
Ehrlich later dropped out of the race. Ehrlich currently practices law in Saint She is a Certified Family Law Mediator and also specializes in regulatory and compliance law for businesses.
Ehrlich supports the DREAM Acting.
