Jessica Blackman Freedman, an advice columnist, worked together with her twin sister, Alison Blackman Dunham. Jessica Freedman firstly worked as a Legislative Assistant in Washington, District of Columbia in the late 1970s. Then she became a freelance writer and editor, beginning mid-1980s. At Northern Virginia Community College, Freedman also worked as an Adjunct Professor of Writing and Literature for twelve years, and later as an Adjunct Professor at American University and George Mason University.
Mrs. Freedman, with her twin sister, Alison Blackman Dunham, co-authored "Recruiting Love: Using the Business Skills You Have to Find the Love You Want," published by Cyclone Books in 1998. The book was an outgrowth of their 10-year careers as syndicated advice columnists for online Web sites and, to a lesser extent, print publications. Touted by some who carry their column as "the next Ann & Abby for the new millennium," they were known as the "Advice Sisters." For each question about finding lasting love, marital issues, divorce, family dynamics, career problems, and beauty tips, they replied with individual answers.
Jessica Freedman's life path ended on July 20, 2002, in Alexandria, Virginia, as a result of congestive heart failure.
