Ciment is a professor of English at the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida. She is an author since 1986. She is also contributor to periodicals, including Mississippi Review, CQ, and South Carolina Review.
Jill was married to artist Arnold Mesches until his death in 2016. Jill has no children.
