(At a time when the U.S. economy is relying on small- and ...)
At a time when the U.S. economy is relying on small- and medium-sized companies to provide more jobs, the healthy functioning of corporate boards is more critical than ever. But the dialog on corporate governance has thus far focused predominantly on large corporations. As a result of "one-size-fits-all" governance, small-cap companies are routinely stymied by unique governance issues for which there has been no objective, practical guidance - until now. The Perfect Corporate Board offers best practices designed specifically for smaller companies. It identifies the key challenges board members of smaller companies face on a routine basis, and it provides the solutions to resolve them.

What if you could gather the smartest people you know into one room and ask them anything? Who would be there? What would you ask? Most likely you would want a wide range of advisors who had been there and done that; people who succeeded; people who failed and got up and dusted themselves off and won the battle anyway. You'd want their sage advice on business and life drawn from their real-life experiences. No agendas in this room except what's best for you. That time in that room would no doubt be priceless for you as you gather all of the intelligence you'll need to be your best in every area. Follow These Leaders is a chance to do just that. The room filled up quickly and the wisdom flowed freely. The result? A wise and entertaining handbook with a single goal. Helping you soar. Come join us. Quotations:
"Working hard is an investment in your future."
"Don’t let naysayers’ narrow view of the world steal your joy in what you are accomplishing. You deserve to be there. Relish it!"
"Temper your expectations of yourself. Being “perfect” is fruitless."
Griffin grew up with post-depression parents who transferred their fears of money to her. She carried that “black circle of fear” around with her for years until finally one day her own inner voice told her not to run away but to step inside of the circle.
