Harris was previously a contestant on The Bachelor, where she finished in third place, and was later chosen to be the fifth Bachelorette. She chose Editor Swiderski and they became engaged, but broke up in 2010.

She appears on the series Love lieutenant or List lieutenant Vancouver, which airs on West Network in Canada and HGTV in the United States under the title Love lieutenant or List lieutenant Too, where she works to redesign a family"s existing home in hopes that they will stay in the home. Before this, Harris briefly lent her services to Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. She is originally from Peace River, Alberta, Canada. but has been a long time resident of Vancouver.
She worked at Caban interior goods store, which led her into interior decor.
She formalized her interior credentials with a 2006 certificate from BCIT in interior design. In 2011, she headlined the Calgary Home + Design Show, as part of the HGTV stand.
She runs her own brand of interior decor goods. On 8 July 2013, she launched her e-vintage webstore, Charlie Ford Vintage.
In early 2009, she was a contestant on the American television show The Bachelor (season 13), ending up as second-runner-up.
In mid 2009, she was on the American television show The Bachelorette (season 5), as its first Canadian star. In 2010 she was a designer on Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. In 2011, she hosted season one of Canadian television show Canada"s Handyman Challenge, which aired in 2012.
