Career
Donovan began his career directing commercials, music videos, and short films, until his feature film directorial debut in 1996, with 2 Mayhem 3. He relocated from Montreal to Toronto in early 2010, and founded Undertow Entertainment in 2011.

He wrote and directed 3 saisons, which won several international awards, including Best Feature at the 2010 Beverly Hills Film Festival, Best Director at the 2009 Mexico International Film Festival, and Best Canadian Feature Film at the 2008 Whistler Film Festival. In 2013 Donovan was presented with a Canadian Screen Award for best director for his work on the television series Flashpoint.
