Drain"s solo work has explored the bounds of sculpture via furniture, garment making, photography, collage and installation.
Textiles have often provided conceptual and formal guidance in these explorations. Drain"s work is typically bright and bold, often mixing knits and found materials in his sculpture.
With Drain, fantasy finds form and form becomes the starting point for perceptual transformation.
He is a former member of Forcefield, who was included in the 2002 Whitney Biennial.
