Total games played in the National Hockey League, 1023 with 69 goals and 299 assists. He played from 1962-1963 season to 1977-1978 season in the National Hockey League and 1978-1979 in the WHA. In 2009, Neilson was ranked Number. 42 on the all-time list of New York Rangers in the book 100 Ranger Greats (John Wiley & Sons).
