Gallagher turned pro in 1983 and joined the Professional Golf Association Tour in 1984. Gallagher"s best finishes in a major championship were a 3rd place finish at the 1991 Professional Golf Association Championship, and a T-2 at the same tournament the following year. Gallagher, who works as a golf analyst for United States of America Network, has appeared in a limited number of events on the Champions Tour since reaching age 50 in 2011.
