He mapped out a plan of excavating a canal to divert the water of the Yamato River to develop new rice fields and presented it to the ShoguTvate. In 1703, the Shogunate ordered Tadakuni Honda, Lord of Himeji, to carry out the excavation work, with Jimbe directing it. It was successfully completed and 1,960 acres of new rice fields were obtained as the result.
