He was editor of the history of the Meiji Restoration for the Ministry of Education, instructor of Kyoto University, Director of the Jissen Women's Professional School. Then was appointed director of the Kaikoku Hyakunen Kinen Bunka Jigyokai (The Cultural Project Association for the Commemoration of the 100th Anniversary of Opening the Country) in 1951, and also professor of Hosei University and the Jissen Women's College. Chairman of the Japan Historical Geography Academy.
