He joined the newspaper publisher "Chugai Shogyo Shimposha" in 1933. After the war, the newspaper changed its name to "Nihon Keizai Shimbun". Under this name, the "Nikkei" is still known as one of Japan's leading media companies. In addition to the post of editor in chief, which he held since 1946, Enjoji was also represented on the board of the publishing house. After further posts at the senior level, he was in February 1968, finally President of the Nikkei.
Organized the exhibitions in GDR, he laid the foundations for a trusting exchange between Japan and the GDR early on. Following his example, more and more private collectors and museums in Japan provided their exhibits for exhibitions in the GDR, which gave the people there the opportunity to experience original art from Japan.
