Career
She is particularly known for scented candles. Joanne Lesley Malone was born in November 1963, and grew up in a council house in Bexleyheath, Kent, had severe dyslexia and left school without any qualifications, and created the company on her own. In 1999, Malone sold Jo Malone London to Estée Lauder for "undisclosed millions".
In 2008, Malone received an Administration Member of the Order of the British Empire. In 2015, she was the "castaway" on British Broadcasting Corporation Radio 4"s Desert Island Discs.
Malone is married to former surveyor, Gary Willcox, and they have a son together.
