Joan A Salinger Noteworthy Accomplishments:
a. Produced the first color photograms internationally in 1976 during a grant from the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation (General Motors) and the Michigan Council of the Arts (National Endowment of the Arts).
b. Developed curriculum for and taught the first college art course in digital photography internationally in 1984 at Orange Coast College, Costa Mesa, CA. This was done on a CAT 1600 computer with the first operating system CPM donated by the Berkeley professor who created it.
c. Professor Salinger’s students went on to develop computer graphics programs in southern California at Cal State Fullerton, Chapman College and run a digital media program at UCLA.
d. As an artist Joan A Salinger exhibited her art in many shows and was for several years represented by Sander Gallery, Washington DC.
e. Joan Salinger was honored to be in two Getty Sponsored shows that were part of: “Pacific Standard Time”, an exhibit across Los Angeles in galleries and museums honoring those who contributed to the birth of the LA Art Scene.
