Luehring began her career as an attorney at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP in 1982 and had held the position for four years. In 1996, she took the same position at Morrison & Foerster LLP, where she worked until 1998. Also she was a law review editor at the University of North Carolina. Since 2001 JoAnn has been a partner of Roberts & Holland LLP.
In addition, JoAnn advises public charities regarding permitted lobbying activities and related limitations and reporting requirements and helps structure their economic arrangements with insiders, to ensure compliance with applicable rules and guidelines. She counsels private foundations on issues involving self-dealing, excess business holdings, prudent investments and other activities.
