Garcia began his coaching career as an assistant at Barry University in 2012. In May 2014, he was named head coach of Miami Dade Football Club in the NAL. Joao made his debut with Miami Dade Football Club in the NAL on May 30, 2014, in a match against Nacional South Carolina, winning the match 3 to 1. s Andres Perez and Kaique Negri scored the club"s first winning goals.
