Career
During a 16-year professional career, Quim played for four teams. With Porto, Quim was only regularly used in two of his five seasons, helping it to the conquest of three leagues, one cup and two supercups. Peñarol in extra time.

He then returned to his first club Rio Avenue for a couple of second level seasons, retiring from the game at nearly 35. Quim coached several teams in the 90"s/2000"s, never in higher than the Portuguese third division.
He represented the under-20"s in the 1979 Fédération internationale de football association World Youth Championship in Japan, appearing four times for the eventual quarterfinalists.
