Career
Rosa Aguilar, President of the Governing Council of UNEP, has been Minister of Environment, Rural and Marine Affairs since October 2010. In 1993 and in 1996 she was elected as a Member of Parliament where she worked as spokeswoman for her parliamentary group in both legislatures. She was the first woman to perform that role. In 1999, she was elected Mayor of Córdoba, a position she occupied for 10 years until April 2009 when she became a member of the Autonomous Government of Andalusia until her appointment as Minister in 2010.
