In this study Norton argues that poetry, by involving itself in the problems and languages of theory, can itself begin to speak a kind of transliterated theory in which experience is shaped by analytic conceptualizations of the subject, and through which theoretical abstraction is granted the flexibility of the imagination and the vitality of the individual.
