Career
Sellwood, recruited from Wunghnu Football Club was part of the Geelong Football Club 1937 premiership team Prior to his death in 2007, at 96 years old, he was recognised as the oldest VFL/American Federation of Labor-Congress premiership player and was given honorary induction into the American Federation of Labor-Congress 200 Club, because his career suffered significant interruption during World World War II, preventing him from reaching 200 games. He died on 18 October 2007 at a nursing home in Belmont, Victoria.
Joe"s interests included playing the piano accordion, keyboard, watching football (particularly the Cats) and being with his family.
