Career
Early career Tait turned professional in 2006 with English League One side Hartlepool United. United States college and amateur Tait moved from his native to the in 2009 after accepting a scholarship to play college soccer at Lindsey Wilson College. During his college years Tait also played in the USL Premier Development League for the Baton Rouge Capitals, helping his team to the PDL National Semi-finals in 2010.
Professional Tait turned professional once again in April 2011 when he signed for the Dayton Dutch Lions of the USL Professional Division.
He made his debut for Dayton Dutch Lions on 23 April 2011 in a game against Rochester Rhinos. On 13 September 2011 he was signed by Philadelphia Union of Major League Soccer After being released by Philadelphia, Tait signed for of the Northern Football League Division One in September 2012.
After signing for Darlington, Tait missed only one game during the season. He also scored 5 goals.
On 31 May 2013, Tait signed for Gateshead on a one-year contract.
He made his debut on 10 August 2013 against Kidderminster Harriers. On 10 January 2014, Tait rejoined on loan for the remainder of the 2013-2014 season. At the end of the 2013-2014 season, Tait was released by Gateshead.
On 1 July 2014, Tait signed for Spennymoor Town.
